White Rose Bar & Grill

History

White Rose Bar & Grill has been open in downtown York and family-operated for more than 80 years, beginning in 1933 as The Beaver Inn. The grandparents of current owner Tom Sibol opened the restaurant, located on North Beaver Street where our smoking lounge, Stoagies, sits today.

In 1944, Sibol’s grandparents sold it to his parents, who ran the restaurant for four decades before selling it on to Tom.

We expanded to our current spot on the corner of North Beaver and West Philadelphia streets in 1999, and have since renovated our Philadelphia Street bar and the indoor/outdoor patio on Philadelphia Street.

In 2013, we celebrated 80 years of business with a community-minded event that offered specials and prices reminiscent of our first meals served in 1933.

Now, we’re ready for the next 80 years, offering a unique escape from the ordinary dining experience.
